IMPORTANT UPDATES

COVID-19

ON-CAMPUS ACTIVITIES & SERVICES ARE NOW OPEN

In light of the recent developments regarding coronavirus COVID-19, we are excited to announce that we have opened our doors again! This includes Monday night Freedom Recovery service and Sunday night Ahop Young Adults service.

We are currently offering 2 Sunday Morning Worship Opportunities:

9:00 am: Dedicated Service for our Vulnerable Community

Our first service is devoted to the care and safety of our elderly and high-risk community, providing an opportunity to worship together responsibly. We recognize that not all immune systems are created equal, and while many can be exposed to COVID with little to no symptoms, for some, exposure can be detrimental. That's why we've created this dedicated service that adheres to specific guidelines that are more stringent than our 11:00 am service in an attempt to provide a safer environment for our elderly and high-risk community to gather together. If you're planning on attending this service, here are a few things that you need to know:

  • Facecoverings are provided and REQUIRED. (If you're not keen on mask-wearing, come worship with us at 11:00 am instead!)

  • Temperatures will be taken at the door. Don't worry--it takes just a few seconds and it's touch-free.

  • Social Distancing Must Be Practiced. We get it--we're a community of huggers and hand-shakers, but for this season, let's all respect one another's space and opt for a friendly wave instead.

  • Sit with your QuaranTEAM. We ask that you only sit with the people you are around on a regular basis (your family & close friends). Please allow at least 6 feet between your seat and the seat of someone else who isn't apart of your crew.

  • Registration is REQUIRED. This will allow us to not only space seats out as much as possible ahead of time, but also to know who exactly was in service should we need to alert individuals who may have been exposed to someone in the congregation who tests positive for COVID. We encourage pre-registration, but registration will also be available at the door, starting at 8:30 am. You can register by clicking here!

If you are feeling ill or have been exposed to anyone who has tested positive for COVID within the last 14 days, we ask that you stay home and join us online at 11:00am on our AhopChurchTV Youtube channel (see the link at the bottom of the page).

11:00 am: Family Service

Our second service is an option for those who might not be comfortable with some of the guidelines of our dedicated 9:00 am service.

The CDC recommends that attendees wear masks and continue to wash their hands regularly. While we encourage attendees to follow these recommendations, we will not turn away anyone who wants to worship. We will be doing our part to sanitize surfaces before, during, and after service to minimize the number of germs you might come in contact with.

The CDC also recommends that anyone planning on attending service take their temperature before arriving to ensure that they aren't running a fever and potentially carrying the virus.

If you are over the age of 65 or fall into one of the high-risk categories, we encourage you to attend our 9:00 am service or stay home. We will continue to provide our Live Service stream at 11am on Sundays on our Ahop Church TV YouTube channel, so you don't have to worry about missing out on a great service!

If you are feeling ill, we ask you to please be considerate of your A-Fam and make the decision to stay home and join us online.

To minimize personal contact, our greeters aren't shaking hands, but don't worry, they'll still offer you a friendly "hello" and a social distanced high five! We also won't be handing out paper copies of "The Scoop", so make sure you download our Ahop Xenia app so you have access to important weekly information (see the "Other Ways You Can Stay Connected" to get the app).

Here are a Few Other Ways We're Minimizing Personal Contact:

  • No Community Time during service

  • Special restrictions for requested prayer during service

We're currently offering children's (PreK-5) and teen services during our 11:00 am Gathering. We're also happy to provide nursery and toddler care during that time, too. Our childcare workers are practicing social distancing when possible, as well as mask-wearing in an attempt to minimize the germs your child may come in contact with while in our care.

OTHER WAYS YOU CAN STAY CONNECTED

We're excited to get back together in service, but for now, if you feel like you'd rather stay home, you can still join most of our services and, small groups, and bible studies virtually. We're thankful for platforms like Facebook, Youtube, and our Ahop Xenia mobile app that have allowed us to stay connected in meaningful ways! If you haven't already, join us in the following places:

Facebook @AhopXenia: our Wednesday classes are streamed Live on Facebook, giving you an opportunity to attend and engage from the comfort of your own home.

YouTube @AhopChurchwe Live stream our Sunday morning service on YouTube and post other encouraging videos to inspire your faith journey.

Ahop Xenia mobile app: we post updates and upcoming opportunities on our Ahop Xenia app, and we send out important notifications to keep you up to date on what's going on around here. You can download the app in your device's app store:
