Love Your Neighbor
In Week 3, the focus shifts outward—to loving those around you. As we have learned to listen and obey, we are now called to demonstrate God’s love to others. This week, we explore the command to love our neighbor as ourselves.
Day 15: Matthew 22:37-40 – The Greatest Commandment
Scripture: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Love for God and love for people are inseparable.
Reflect on how you can show love to those around you today.
Day 16: 1 John 4:7-8 – God is Love
Scripture: “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
True love comes from God.
Ask God to fill your heart with His love so that you can pour it out to others.
Day 17: Luke 10:25-37 – The Good Samaritan
Scripture: “But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.”
Who is your “neighbor”?
Reflect on ways you can show mercy and compassion to those who are hurting or in need
.
Day 18: Romans 13:8-10 – Love Fulfills the Law
Scripture: “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.”
Love is a debt we continually owe to others.
Ask God to show you specific ways you can love your neighbors in practical ways.
Day 19: John 13:34-35 – Love One Another
Scripture: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
Jesus calls us to love as He has loved us.
Reflect on His love for you and how you can reflect that love to others.
Day 20: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 – The Characteristics of Love
Scripture: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”
Spend time reflecting on these characteristics of love. Which areas do you need God’s help to grow in?
Day 21: 1 Peter 4:8 – Love Covers a Multitude of Sins
Scripture: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”
Love has the power to heal and restore relationships.
Ask God for strength to love unconditionally, even when it is difficult.
